Open Enrollment Deadline Changes

The Iowa Legislature recently passed Bill SF 2435 which contains changes to open enrollment application dates. This bill reinstates the March 1st open enrollment application deadline for students entering into grades 1st through 12th grade and September 1st for kindergarten students. This is effective July 1, 2024.

In simple terms: If a student is open-enrolling for the upcoming 24-25 school year, open enrollment paperwork deadline is July 1, 2024. If a student is open-enrolling for the 25-26 school year, open enrollment paperwork deadline is March 1, 2025. The March 1st deadline will be effective each year thereafter.

NOTE: This is for new open-enrolled students.  Existing open-enrolled Treynor students do not need to file new paperwork, unless there is a change of residing school district residency.
