SCHOOL NEWS
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4th-8th and we have many parents or community members ask how they can help celebrate our amazing teachers. If you or your group are wanting to bring appreciation treats/items, please fill out the form here. More than one group can bring items on any given day.
Classroom Grants for the 26-27 school year have been awarded to six recipients from the 16 that applied. These grants are made possible through the non-profit Treynor Community Foundation Classroom Grants program. Read more on this web article about the six recipients and how they plan to use their grant to supplement learning in their classroom next school year. Please consider donating to the classroom grant fund so we can help even more teachers in the future!
Come see this year's student-led spring production, Peter Pan Goes Wrong. Showtimes are Saturday, April 25th, at 2:30 and 7:00 pm and Sunday, April 26th, at 2:30 pm. This year's student directors are Andrew Kalstrup and Hailey Bothwell. Tickets go live Friday April 17th at On the Stage website. Presale tickets are $5 for students, $10 for adults, and $7 for seniors. Tickets purchased at the door will be $7 for students, $15 for adults, and $12 for seniors. See you at the show!
Yearbook Pre-Sale Discounts End April 28th! April 28th is your LAST CHANCE to preorder your 2025-2026 yearbook. You MUST preorder to be guaranteed a book. Go to Jostens Yearbooks and enter Treynor. Then choose which book you wish to purchase. The high school, middle school, and elementary each has its own book, so be sure to choose the correct option. Questions? Middle School Activity Night is scheduled for Friday, May 1st from 3:30-5:00 in the West and East Gym. There will be no JH practice after school on this day. Refer to this web article for all the details. You are highly encouraged to prepay your $3 admission to Mrs. Harris or Mrs. Castle, so you will have more time to take part in the fun.
Summer Break will begin for our students on May 28, 2026 with a 2:00 p.m. dismissal. On Monday, April 13, 2026, the Treynor CSD School Board finalized the last day of school for the 2025-2026 school year. This is provided there will not be additional school cancellations. Teachers will have staff development and work days on Friday, May 29th and June 1st through June 3rd.
Summer Camps webpage has been started as a site to check out for activities happening in and around our school this summer. Check back often as coaches submit their information.
Ball Boys Needed for HS Soccer Games We are looking for youth soccer teams to shag balls during our home games and also walk on the field with the starters. Our home games are April 27 and May 2, 12. Please email Mitch Kellar at mkellar@treynorcardinals.org.

4th-6th Grade Track Meet is scheduled for Friday, May 15th. More details will be sent out as the date gets closer.
ACT Test Options are available in June and July. It is recommended that juniors take the ACT this spring or summer. Go to myact.org to register for the test. Select “paper option”.
Treynor Local Scholarships: If your business or family would like to sponsor a scholarship for a Treynor High School senior, you can reach out to Danie Floerchinger at dfloerchinger@treynorcardinals.org. The scholarship name would join this list of available scholarships. Families/committees would then select the recipient(s).

COMMUNITY NEWS
Attention Parents/Guardians with students in the class of 2031 and 2032: There will be a parent meeting for the Washington DC trip on May 14th at 6:30 P.M. in the back room of Silos. This meeting will cover all of the details for the 4 day trip in June 2027. Flyers will come home with students the first week in May. Athletic Booster Bash is coming up at 5:00 pm on April 25, 2026 at the Treynor Community Center. The night is packed full of fun and all proceeds go to support over 20 of Treynor CSD’s athletic and activity programs. Read all the details and get your tickets here.

Sports Trainer’s Schedule: Josh Bintz training room hours for 2025 will be Mondays 3:00-4:30pm and Thursdays 7:30-9:00am. Injury reports will still be going out regularly via email but as always, feel free to message me with any questions or concerns!

- To purchase an Activity Pass or game-day passes, go to Treynor's GoBound Ticket Page. While entry gates will have card readers available, pre-purchasing your digital tickets will speed up the process.
Bus Transportation is for students who have been assigned a bus through the transportation department and routinely ride to and/or from school. For bus management and student safety, students are only allowed to ride their assigned bus.
The speed limit in the school zone on Highway 92 is 25 mph during times when the lights are flashing. The school zone is highlighted in red below. These lights flash in the morning from 7:40 - 8:20 a.m. and in the afternoon from 3:20-3:50 p.m. (1:50-2:20 p.m. on 2:00 p.m. dismissal days). NOTE: The crosswalk flashing is managed by the City of Treynor.
