SCHOOL NEWS

A Season of Generosity: The holiday season and end of year is upon us, and with that, we have many opportunities for our staff, students, parents and community members to give back.  Read more about the different projects that are being coordinated by or for our school below.

  • Holiday Help: Our counselors have asked our parents if they need holiday help, or are willing to help, to fill out a confidential form by November 25th.
  • Winter Coat Drive: Drop off your gently used or new coats to Treynor Elementary or Castle & Associates by December 1st.
  • JTW Cardinal Tree: At the Community Christmas event on November 30, there are opportunities to take a tag from the Cardinal Tree to purchase holiday gifts.
  • Booster Club Wrappy Wednesday: Booster Club is sponsoring an event called Wrappy Wednesday and needs wrapping supplies by December 1st. On December 3rd, 10th and 17th, they will offer holiday wrapping with free will donations going to the Athletic Booster Club. See the web article for more details.
  • TCSD Classroom Grant: Give a tax-deductible donation to the Treynor School Fund to help fund Treynor CSD classroom grants. Give by December 31, 2025 to take advantage of the tax deduction.
  • Give the Gift of Life at the Treynor Blood Drive on Thursday, December 4th from 11:30-5:30 p.m. at the Treynor Community Center. Sign up to donate at www.redcrossblood.org.

2024-2025 Elementary Yearbooks There are a limited number of yearbooks leftover from last school year.  Please email Mrs.Randi Endriss if you are interested in purchasing a yearbook from LAST school year.  You can still purchase yearbooks for the current 25-26 school year through this link.

 

Treynor Local Scholarships: If your business or family would like to sponsor a scholarship for a Treynor High School senior, you can reach out to Danie Floerchinger at dfloerchinger@treynorcardinals.org. The scholarship name would join this list of available scholarships. Families/committees would then select the recipient(s).

 

Middle School Strength & Conditioning  The calendar for the school year has been updated! The schedule is consistent on T/W/TH but there are some Monday sessions during Holiday weeks. The calendar is posted outside of the weight room and online at the Cardinal Performance website.

 

 

COMMUNITY  NEWS

 

Congratulations to the local Hoop Shoot Winners! The middle & elementary school recently completed the local Elks Hoop Shoot Competition. Students ages 8 - 13 competed and shot a total of 25 free throws. All winners will move on to the Council Bluffs Elks Hoop Shoot, at a date to be determined.  This year's local winners are as follows:

  • 12-13 girls: Camryn Kotrous (19/25)
  • 12-13 boys: Jase Bass (21/25)
  • 10-11 girls: Quinley Leick (20/25)
  • 10-11 boys: Caleb Bierbaum (22/25)
  • 8-9 girls: Mallory Olson (21/25)
  • 8-9 boys: Weston Bass & Nash Gillaspie tied (17/25) – Weston won the shoot-off. 

Give the Gift of Life at the Treynor Blood Drive on Thursday, December 4th from 11:30-5:30 p.m. at the Treynor Community Center. Sign up to donate at www.redcrossblood.org.

 

JTW Community Christmas is coming up on Sunday, November 30th from 4:30-7:00 with Santa arriving at 5:00 p.m. While you’re there, enjoy things like the Pancake Man, cookie decorating, crafts, a hot cocoa station, a photo station, boxed cookie sale or take a tag to sponsor from the Cardinal Tree. This is always a great event!

 

The Treynor Athletic Booster Club is happy to announce “Wrappy Hour Wednesdays for all your holiday wrapping needs. 

  • First, they are asking for donations of holiday wrapping supplies, such as holiday wrapping paper, gift bags, tissue paper, tape, ribbon, gift tags, boxes, or any unused holiday gift-wrapping extras. These supplies can be dropped in a donation bin at Treynor Elementary, Middle School or High School and Silos. Supply donations are due by December 1st.
  • “Wrappy Hour Wednesday” will be held on December 3rd, 10th and 17th at Silos from 5-8 PM. Drop off your gifts, grab dinner/drink at Silos and come back to beautifully wrapped presents. Or, drop them off and swing back later. Want specific wrapping paper used? No problem! Just bring your preferred wrapping supplies with your gifts.
  • Cost: Free Will Donation / All proceeds support the Treynor Athletic Booster Club

Sports Trainer’s Schedule: Josh Bintz training room hours for 2025 will be Mondays 3:00-4:30pm and Thursdays 7:30-9:00am.  Injury reports will still be going out regularly via email but as always, feel free to message me with any questions or concerns!

Important links for calendars & events:

  • Academic Calendar for other early dismissals and no-school days.  Keep in mind that every Wednesday is a 2:00 dismissal for Teacher In-Service.

  • Activities Calendar
    • To purchase an Activity Pass or game-day passes, go to Treynor's GoBound Ticket Page. While entry gates will have card readers available, pre-purchasing your digital tickets will speed up the process.

Bus Transportation is for students who have been assigned a bus through the transportation department and routinely ride to and/or from school.  For bus management and student safety, students are only allowed to ride their assigned bus.

 

The speed limit in the school zone on Highway 92 is 25 mph during times when the lights are flashing. The school zone is highlighted in red below. These lights flash in the morning from 7:40 - 8:20 a.m. and in the afternoon from 3:20-3:50 p.m. (1:50-2:20 p.m. on 2:00 p.m. dismissal days). NOTE: The crosswalk flashing is managed by the City of Treynor.
