Homecoming Week: The Homecoming 2026 Web Article is a resource for the details of the week. Check back to the page for updates as they become available.

• When: October 5-9th
• Theme & Motto: Children’s Books, “One Team, One Story, One Goal!”
• Community Floats: If your group would like to participate in this year’s Homecoming parade, please sign-up using the sign-up form.  This will allow us to email you more details before Homecoming Day..
  • Please be aware that there is an issue surrounding Cat in the Hat coming from TikTok. We would encourage our community members to consider this when deciding on a theme. All school grade levels will not be allowed to use this as a theme.

Picture Retakes will be done by Pyles on Friday, October 2nd. All students will get an envelope back from the original picture day (Sept 9th) regardless if they originally ordered or not. Within the picture envelope will be retake instructions. Students will need to bring back their original pictures and half of the package price will be due (unless the retake is a Pyles Photography error). For those who did not originally order pictures or get a sample packet, you can go online to http://www.pylesphotography.com/ to order. Or, pick up (or download) an order form from any school office.

School Improvement Advisory Committee (SIAC):  Each school year the School Improvement Advisory Committee, often referred to as SIAC, is tasked with reviewing district information regarding students and their learning. This committee consisting of parents, community stakeholders and staff members, meets three times per year.  If you would like to be part of a group that focuses on student growth and success, please contact: Dr. Beyenhof jbeyenhof@treynorcardinals.org or Jennifer Nelson jnelson@treynorcardinals.org

HS Food Drive: To help our local Treynor food pantry, HS students will be collecting these foods through Thursday, October 1. The winning grade will get snacks provided for their Homecoming decorating time on October 2nd.  Keep in mind that 10 granola bars = 1 item and 10 ramen = 1 item.

Yearbook Early Bird Special Has Been Extended!!

• 2026-2027 Yearbook Early-Bird “Back-to-School Special” has been extended to Friday, October 2nd. Save money now while the deal lasts.
  • High School: $60 (increases to $75 after promotion)
  • Middle & Elementary School: $20 (increases to $30 after promotion)

Last Year’s ELEMENTARY Yearbooks

• These should be arriving any time!  They will be distributed as soon as they are received. 
• If you are not sure if you ordered, or want one of the extras when they arrive, please contact Mrs. Endriss - rendriss@treynorcardinals.org

Last Year’s MS-HS Yearbooks

• We have extra 2025-2026 MS & HS yearbooks that came in recently. If you didn't purchase one and would like a copy, send payment to "THS Yearbook" ($35 for MS yearbook and $75 for HS yearbook). Act fast, we have limited supply.
• We will also have extra 2025-2026 Elementary books - If you did not get yours last year, these will be available to purchase when they arrive at $30 a book.  Payments can be made out to “THS Yearbook”, but can be sent to school with your elementary child to claim your book.  Once payment is received, a book will be sent home with your child.

Activity Sponsorship Opportunities & Benefits. The success our students achieve in athletics, fine arts, speech, music, and countless other activities is only possible because of the investment made by those who believe in our programs. To continue providing outstanding opportunities for our students, we are actively seeking sponsors for the 2026-27 school year. Please read more information in this web article and take a look at the sponsorship opportunities and benefits program. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, or know someone who might be, reach out to AD Jason Shupp.

Junior Class Prom Fundraiser (Sept. 14–24): Juniors need to raise or pay $135 (plus $35 for outside/underclassmen guests) via the 30PoP! donation platform to cover the school-sponsored dinner and dance. Please note this is our only fundraiser for the dance itself and is completely separate from the Junior Parent Group's Post-Prom/Parade of Stars events.

Junior High Strength & Speed: JH Weight lifting will begin on Tuesday, September 8th at 7am in the weight room. Check out the full 2026-2027 calendar (subject to change).

ACT Test Dates: Dec 12 | Feb 27 | Apr 10 | Jun 12 |  Jul 10.  The ACT is a standardized test encouraged but not required for 4-year college bound students. Register online at ACT.org.

Classroom Grant Donations: Make a tax-deductible contribution to support future teacher classroom projects. Support our teachers via the Classroom Grant Fund.

COMMUNITY NEWS

Bring the Noise, Bring the Spirit & Bring Your Electric Energy:

• When: Friday, September 25th
• What: Treynor vs. Underwood Football Game
• How: Wear your Treynor Electric Energy (or any neon colored) T-shirt for game night
• Let’s pack the stands and cheer on our boys to victory.

St. Paul Lutheran Church's Free Community Tailgate Dinner

• When: Tonight before the home football game.
• Where:  It will be held outside in the church parking lot weather permitting; otherwise it will be in the fellowship hall. 
• What: Loaded nachos and drinks will be served from 5:15 - 6:45 pm.
• The gate between the church property and the football stadium will be open so you can walk over to the game.

St. Paul Lutheran Church is hosting a 5th Quarter for high school students following the home game tonight until 11 PM.  It will be held in their youth center located in the basement of the Preschool. The gate between the church property and football stadium will be open all evening until just after 11 for youth to walk over.  Free snacks, games, and game tables available.  Contact Denise Wilson with any questions (402) 680-8172.

School Zone Speed Limits:

• Speed Limits: 25 mph is effective in the school zone on Hwy 92 during the flashing times of 7:40-8:20 AM & 3:20-3:50 PM (1:50-2:20 PM on 2:00 PM dismissal days).

School Bus Safety:

• Bus Transportation Notice: Assigned buses are for designated regular riders only. For management and safety, students may only ride their assigned bus.
• Highway Stopping: Review the law and safe stopping guidelines via the Iowa DOT School Bus Safety Page.
