Welcome to Treynor Elementary School - home of approximately 330 students in Kindergarten through fifth grade. The original portion of the building was constructed in the early 70’s. A small addition was added to the south part of the building in 1998 and a major 25,000 square foot addition was opened in the fall of 2004. Kindergarten and three sections each of first through fifth grade are housed in each part of the building. Along with the classrooms, the students have access to a beautiful gymnasium, music and art room, media center, a working bank, gifted education classroom, Title 1 Reading and Resource classrooms.
Ms. Jillian Kay is our Elementary Principal. She comes from serving many years in the Omaha Public School system and enjoys the more direct interaction she gets at Treynor with students and teachers.
Elementary Secretary, Dana Boswell greets all visitors. Within the office complex is the nurse’s office where Mrs. Lippert spends most of her day in the district serving the health needs of our students.
Mrs. Currin is our elementary guidance counselor. She gets into each classroom once per week for lessons on a variety of subjects including bullying, character education, and disabilities.
The media center is a place where students can check out books, have a story read to them or receive technical assistance from Media Director Mrs. Jennifer Nelson or Assistant Mrs. Jill Orr. Right next door is the TAG (talented and gifted) classroom. Each student in KDG through 5th grade has a chromebook assigned to them to use in their classroom.
The gymnasium is used not only for physical education classes, but community sports activities as well. The bleachers accommodate up to 300 and are utilized for assemblies and community functions.
