Student Club Spreading JOI

JOI Students collected over 400 food items for the local panty. Front Row: Anna W, Monica O, Reese C. Back Row: Delaney W, Kyle B, Gabe W, Haley N

The students in the local Junior Optimist Club have been spreading "JOI" this month by taking part in a few projects. Last week, after their monthly meeting, they made Valentine cards for the Open Door Mission and also filled Mrs.Danie Floerchinger's room with encouragement balloon in honor of National School Counselor's Week. On Saturday, the annual SOUPer Bowl Food Drive was held and they picked up food donations from resident's front porches and brought those items back to the local food pantry, which is in Zion Church.  Over 400 items were collected this year for the pantry.

Thank you to the students who helped with all the projects this month and to the Treynor residents who donated items for the food drive. To close out the year, the students will be partnering with New Visions for a shoe drive in April. They also have a couple of other secret projects that are in the works.
