Letter from the Superintendent

Respect Retreat

Parents,

We have had another great week of school!  Capped off by our 9th and 10th grade RESPECT RETREAT facilitated by Youth Frontiers.  This inspiring experience focused on the important themes of respecting yourself, others, and the importance of standing up for others.

Throughout the day, students engaged in various games, activities, and discussions designed to strengthen their relationships with peers. Our 11th and 12th grade National Honor Society students played a crucial role as facilitators, guiding the younger students through meaningful conversations and team-building exercises.

The facilitators from Youth Frontiers shared personal stories and experiences, highlighting real-life examples of bullying and hurtful behaviors. These discussions opened up a dialogue about the impact of our choices and actions, particularly on our school culture. The emphasis was clear: we each play a part in shaping an environment where respect and kindness thrive.

As the day progressed, students had the opportunity to reflect on their own choices and the importance of standing up for themselves and their peers. By the end of the retreat, each student made a personalized commitment to respect themselves, others, and to actively support those who may need a voice.

We believe that experiences like the Respect Retreat are pivotal in fostering a positive school culture. We encourage you to discuss these themes at home and support your child in their commitment to respect and kindness. Together, we can create a community where every student feels valued and supported.

Thank you for your ongoing support in making our school a welcoming place for all.
