1/13/25 Update

Dear Parents and Fans of Treynor Community Schools,

We had another fantastic week filled with student achievements and exciting performances. Here's a recap of last week and a preview of what's coming up!

Weekly Recap:

• January 7:

  • Boys Wrestling at Underwood Triangular: Competed in hard fought duals against Shenandoah and Underwood.

  • Boys and Girls Basketball vs. Tri-Center:

    • Youth Basketball Appreciation Night: It was wonderful to see our Treynor Youth Teams recognized for their growing skills and dedication to the sport.

    • Halftime performances by Violet Wellman and the Treynor Dance Team were outstanding!

    • Girls V Score: 65-29 - JV Score: 49-12 

    • Boys V Score: 82-50 

• January 10:

  • Boys and Girls Basketball vs. Riverside: A packed house enjoyed thrilling basketball at all levels.

    • Halftime performances included 5th Grade Bouncing to the Beat with Mr. Stinman, Joslynn Kenealy's dance routine, and the Dance Competition Jazz routine, all of which were a huge hit!!

    • Girls V Score: 47-32 

    • Boys V Score: 70-31

• January 10-11:

  • State Debate Competition:

    • Anne Miller and Nori Wolford: Octafinalists, finishing 13th overall.

    • Hailey Wiebold and Evelynne Church: Octafinalists, finishing 9th overall, with Hailey also earning 10th overall speaker.

    • Gretchen Swalwell and Monica Osborn: Quarterfinalists, finishing 8th overall.

    • Jeffrey Owen: Finished 7th in his house, narrowly missing a medal.

• January 11:

  • Boys Wrestling:

    • Zach Robbins placed 1st - Earned his 100th Career Win! Congrats!

    • Lowell Knott placed 5th.

    • Bradley Kenealy placed 7th.

  • Girls Wrestling:

    • Emma Miller and Liz Young placed 3rd.

    • Andyn White placed 5th.

    • Jordyn Boswell and Keira Ragland placed 7th.

Upcoming Events:

• January 13:

  • JH Girls Basketball vs. Woodbine (at Home). Start time: 4:00 PM (7th grade first, followed by 8th grade).

• January 14:

  • JH Girls Basketball at Fremont Mills. Start time: 4:00 PM.

  • HS Boys and Girls Basketball @ Logan-Magnolia:

    • Free-Will Donation Soup Supper starting at 4:30 PM.

• January 17:

  • HS Boys Basketball vs. Audubon (at Home). Treynor Live Stream

    • 4:30 PM: JVR.

    • 6:00 PM: JV.

    • 7:30 PM: Varsity - Halftime performance by the Dance Team.

• January 18:

  • Girls Wrestling at Waukee Northwest, starting at 10:00 AM.

  • Boys Wrestling at Creston, starting at 10:00 AM.
