1/20/25 Update

Dear Parents and Fans of Treynor Community Schools,

We've had an incredible week filled with strong performances and achievements by our students. Here's a recap of the highlights and a look at what's coming up:

Weekly Recap (January 13-18):

• JH Girls Basketball:

  • Defeated Woodbine in their home opener, winning both games.

  • Continued their strong play at Fremont Mills with more great basketball.

• HS Boys and Girls Basketball @ Logan-Magnolia:

  • Girls won 41-20, and Boys won 79-43 in dominating performances.

• Boys Wrestling @ West Monona:

  • Wrestlers had hard-fought matches, gaining valuable experience for the postseason.

• HS Girls Basketball vs. Martensdale-St. Mary's:

  • Treynor won both JV and Varsity games, with Varsity finishing 63-30.

  • Halftime featured a fantastic performance by the Competition Team Jazz Routine.

• HS Boys Basketball vs. Audubon:

  • All levels won, with Varsity securing a 70-47 victory.

  • Another excellent halftime performance by the Dance Team.

• Girls Wrestling @ Waukee Northwest:

  • Andyn White placed 7th

• Boys Wrestling @ Creston:

  • Bradley Kenealy (7th), Zach Robbins (2nd), Lowell Knott (8th), and Maverrick Kalb (6th) 

Upcoming Events:

• January 20:

  • Girls Varsity Wrestling at Lewis Central (9:15 AM).

  • SWIBA HS Honor Band - Bailey Roberts (Flute), Hannah Gann (Clarinet), and Addy Magill (alto sax) all performing tonight at Atlantic High School. What a great representation of our Treynor Fine Arts Program.  

  • TIME CHANGE!!! Boys Basketball vs. Woodbine at AL (4 PM). Tickets available via Bound.

  • JH Girls Basketball at home vs. AHSTW:

    • 7th grade at 4 PM, 8th grade at 5 PM.

  • JH Boys Wrestling at AHSTW (4:15 PM).

• January 21:

  • Boys Wrestling Triangular @ Home (5 PM):

    • Senior Night for Boys and Girls Wrestling and Cheer, recognized between the first and second duals.

    • Youth Appreciation Night between the second and third duals.

    • Match Schedule:

      • Dual 1: AHSTW vs. Logan-Magnolia

      • Dual 2: Treynor vs. Logan-Magnolia

      • Dual 3: Treynor vs. AHSTW

• January 22:

  • WIC Jazz in Audubon. Good luck to our performers!

• January 23:

  • JH Girls Basketball at Tri-Center (4:15 PM for 8th grade, 7th grade follows).

  • JH Boys Wrestling at Logan-Magnolia (4:15 PM).

  • JV Girls Basketball vs. Atlantic at Home (5 PM).

  • Varsity Girls Basketball vs. Atlantic at Home (6:30 PM).

• January 24:

  • JV and Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball vs. AHSTW at Home (6 PM).

• January 25:

  • Speech Competition in Glenwood.

  • Boys and Girls Wrestling at I-35 Roadrunners Wrestling Tournament.
